Bing Bonzer

Standard Sizes: 5’4” to 8’0”
Nose: 14” – 15”
Middle: 19” – 22”
Tail: 13″ – 15”
Thickness: 2 1⁄2” – 3 1⁄4“

Another well-known transitional board from the early 70s, designed by the Campbell Brothers with the help of Bing’s head shaper at the time, Mike Eaton, the Bing Bonzer was one of the first tri-fin surfboards to be built. This board is characterized by its double concave bottom, two long low-profile side fins, and single center box setup. A board built for speed and drive off of the turns similar to riding the edge of a ski/snowboard, the Bing Bonzer is a retro glimpse into today’s surfing and maintains its functionality in medium to large hollow and powerful surf.

A transitional Bing from the late 1960s, the Good Karma is an egg-shaped retro single-fin with a rounded pin tail or a diamond tail that provides smooth gliding speed along with loose turns. Ashley made a name for herself gracefully sliding traditional single fins across Malibu’s beloved First Point. Bing Trimlux

Bing Trimlux

Nose: 18 1/4″
Middle: 22 1/4″ – 23 1/2″
Tail: 15 1/4″
Thickness: 2 13/16″ – 3 1/4″

Available as a square tail or a pintail, this model’s name says it all. This board can be ridden 2″ smaller in length then most traditional single fins because of its relatively little rocker. Flat on the deck and the bottom with a slight blended concave, Matt keeps this model an 1/8″ thinner than most of the Bing models while maintaining the board’s thickness to an eggy 50/50 rail. This gives the board extra glide and turning sensitivity as well as ample noseriding ability for its size.

Bing Pintail Lightweight

Bing Pintail Lightweight

Standard Sizes: 9’0” to 10’0”
Nose: 18 1⁄2“
Middle: 22 1⁄2” – 23 1⁄2”

A single-fin surfboard first designed by Dick Brewer in the late 60s featuring the first hard edge along the tail and a softer more traditional rail forward from the tail, the Pintail Lightweight is an extremely functional traditional board for medium to larger waves while maintaining enough nose width for maneuverability and noseriding. This board is glassed lighter (6+6oz deck, 6oz bottom) for increased maneuverability, staying true to its “Lightweight” name

Bing Lightweight

Bing Lightweight

Standard Sizes: 9’0” to 10’0”
Nose: 18 1⁄2“
Middle: 22 1⁄2” – 23 3⁄4”
Tail: 15 1⁄2“
Thickness: 3” – 3 1⁄4”

The Bing Lightweight was built in the later 1960s when the emphasis changed from noseriding to turning. Gliding and noseriding became less important, though still a factor, and drive and turning became the main focus, Bing designed this single fin surfboard which then evolved into the modern longboard. This board is glassed lighter (6+6oz deck, 6oz bottom) for increased maneuverability, hence the name “Lightweight” and was designed with little concave and a step deck to lessen swing weight in turning. Ideal for medium to large surf and strong offshore conditions.
